New Year Resolutions

Right, so it would appear that the art of blogging is a much greater commitment than I at first anticipated. I’ve let things slide…

I waltzed off to the Caribbean at the start of December and didn’t give The Shiny Magpie a second thought. Then returned to a flurry of birthdays (including my own) and festive madness! Not to mention the fact that my gorgeous but sneaky boyfriend proposed in the midst of all the chaos!!! What was a girl to do?! Conjuring up witty blog posts couldn’t have been further from my mind, but that’s all about to change.

As one of my many new year resolutions (Others include last year’s failed attempt to learn the lyrics to Vanilla Ice’s ‘Ice Ice Baby’ by heart. Harder than it sounds.) I’m going to become a dedicated blogger! I promise not to be flaky and will not let trivial matters such as work deadlines, aged rappers and wedding planning get in my way! You have my word(s).

Practical Style

Practical isn’t a word I’m very fond of or often associated with. It evokes images of horrible waterproof jackets and low maintenance hair styles. Ick!

Although, recently I’ve had to push prejudges aside and accept that I’m an adult. Yes, I’ve come to that point in my life…the dreaded mid-twenties. I have to man-up and accept that carrying my barbie pink laptop in a freebie Mulberry canvas shopper just won’t do! It’s not big and it’s not clever! Plus I doubt my measly insurance would cover a claim for ‘My insufficient and flimsy bag straps snapped’. It’s time to grow up.

I need a ‘practical’ case or bag for my laptop, but I’m damned if I’m going to compromise on style! Any honestly, why should I? I’ve hunted high and low and have finally found my saviour in the form of the beautiful Violet May. Take a look at these bad boys!

Now all I need is someone to buy one for me…
